Signing On the Archives nationales SIV

After our previous post, a few of our Dear Readers have written that they have had problems creating a user's account with the Archives nationales Salle des Inventaires Virtuelle. Such an account is essential to being able to order copies of records in the archives. The problems seem to be less with the AN than with confusion about the tricky ways of forms completion in France. We give above a screen print of the form, with a translation of how to complete it.
