We really are taken aback. It would appear that the powerhouse of commercial French genealogical databases, Toussaint Roze, (who sends out those pithy little messages called "tweets" here) reads our very own French Genealogy Blog or, perhaps, read it just once or at least found it and left a comment and sent us an e-mail.
Monsieur Roze wishes to correct our report on Filae of last month entitled "Reincarnation in French Genealogy". Specifically, he wishes all of you, Dear Readers, to note that :
You have access to all French civil records from XIXth century on Filae. Almost all of them ! It's not limited to the French departments listed in the article ! This is the reason why we launched a new site and a new brand with Filae !
Thus, Filae is an even greater resource than we had explained it to be. We are honoured by Monsieur Roze's attentions to The French Genealogy Blog and sincerely hope that he will find this correction suitable.
Nevertheless, Dear Readers, wondrous as Filae may be in advancing your research, we beg of you not to assume that it provides access to ALL French records available online. To be sure, it is one of the places to start a search, but by no means will it be where you should finish.
